On May 10, 2026, a delegation from Longping Brazil (a subsidiary of Longping Hi-Tech) visited Yazhou Bay National Laboratory for a strategic cooperation meeting with the CLAC-SFIC. The Longping Brazil team included Vice President Ji Shaoqin, Biotech Team Lead Ivan Schuster, and soybean breeder Luiz Hanai. YZBNL was represented by Tian Zhixi, Nian Hai, and Fang Chao.

Discussions covered Brazil’s soybean market, Longping Brazil’s R&D progress, and YZBNL’s soybean bio-breeding advances. The meeting concluded with the awarding of the “CLAC-SFIC Brazil Soybean Breeding Platform” to Longping Brazil, to be based at Longping’s breeding station in Brazil. The platform will focus on China-Brazil joint soybean breeding, GM biosafety assessment, and industrial promotion, strengthening China-LAC food security cooperation.
