From June 11 to 20, 2026, Dr. Alexandre Nepomuceno, Director of Embrapa Soja, and senior soybean breeder Dr. Monica Juliani visited the CLAC-SFIC at Yazhou Bay National Laboratory upon invitation. An MOU was signed to systematically deepen China-Brazil soybean cooperation through joint research, resource sharing, and personnel exchange. The delegation toured Longping Biotech, Hainan University, CAAS SARI, and SCAU to explore China’s breeding system, soybean biotechnology platforms, and seed industrialization progress. Two China-LAC hybrid academic forums were held with online participation from Brazilian colleagues and experts from Colombia. Both sides reached broad cooperation agreements covering joint breeding, biosafety assessment, germplasm exchange, low-carbon soybean cultivation, and personnel training, marking a solid step forward for China-LAC collaborative food security innovation.
